Civil Conflict in Syria

Conflict In Syria

So, you may be completely aware of the ongoing civil conflict within Syria by now, or you may be completely oblivious, either way, this war needs recognition and realization, the tensions have arisen to levels of increasing severity, as I trust you viewed the embedded video prior to reading this body of text. Nothing needs to be said about the video, it speaks for itself.
'Things have certainly escalated since the whole instigation within Syria'. Some of you may say, well, I don't believe that this conflict started last year or within a few months preceding. it's been ongoing since the League of Nation authorized British influence in the Middle Eastern peninsula, some 60-70 years ago when the countries of the middle east were marginally governed by British law. Allocating Jewish land on supposed Arab territory ignited the initial tensions which have blatantly and unfortunately led to conflict, death & destruction ever since.
The news I've gathered is that the UN are attempting to handle the situation, but as usual they're being UN, most of the time aggravating one of the two opposing fronts, brandishing firearms but seldom using them, it's almost if they want one of the sides to execute them for their weaponry. Shameful and substantially ineffective. I don't see UN intervention imposing any stability to the region apart from their evacuations, which for the most part hasn't really worked.
The US have threatened to intervene with Military force, which I believe will just evolve into another momentous failure, a bit like, oh yeah! Afghanistan! Where IEDs killed more men than firearms. The difficulty of the matter is that the Middle East is a terribly controversial place, nuclear weaponry and oil fields headed by unstable dictators it would seem almost taboo to go in guns a blazing again with so much at risk, yet alone Soldiers lives.
I just hope things resolve, and if they don't, Mr. Obama won't have only Mandela to worry about.
